Spring Break- St. Louis

So Luke had spring break last week and we didn't really have any plans. Luke needed to get some studying in and since we are poor :) we decided it was probably for the best to just stay home. But after a few days of never seeing Luke I decided that we should go somewhere. We got really lucky when a guy in our ward offered his apartment in Saint Louis for us to stay in. He works there a few days a week, so he wasn't going to be there and he had an empty apartment. So we decided to make a quick trip out of it. It is about 4 hours from our house, so we got up early Thursday morning and headed out. Jack was great in the car, he is kind of starting to watch movies so that helped. When we got there we drove downtown and then decided to go to the zoo. It was awesome. It was a really fun zoo and the best part of it was that it was FREE! That's right it doesn't cost a thing to get in. It is also ranked one of the best zoos in the country. They have some really cool exhibits. The penguin exhibit was amazing, you go in a cave and they have big pools and places for the penguines to play on both sides. You can reach out and touch the penguins they are so close. The pools are just glass so you can see the penguins swimming in the water, so fun! It was a beautiful day and we had lots of fun. Friday we went and saw the arch and went to the top. You get in this really small tram to go up (kind of scary) and when you get to the top it isn't very wide. They have windows that look down on the city. It is awesome. The arch is right by the Mississippi River so we enjoyed that. Then we went and toured the Anheiser-Busch (Budweisser) factory. It was really cool. They have the Clydsedal horses there and show you how beer is made. Budweisser started in St. Louis so there is alot of history there. Of course the best part was the free samples at the end. JK :) Then we headed home. It was a short trip but it was fun to go to a new city and to get to hang out with Luke. Plus we also got to see some places that were more ghetto than where are apartments are, that is always nice.

So fun~ (my exclamation point isn't working). I wish I would have known you only live 4 hours away from there. We would have had you guys meet us there when we went a few weeks ago. Little vacations are the best. I'm glad you all had a wonderful spring break~
