Jack's first love

This is Jack's little girlfriend, Grace. We have been friends with little Gracie's parents for awhile. We found out about three weeks apart that we were both having a baby. We always thought that it would be fun to have them at the same time even though they were due a month apart. It turned out that they were only 3 days apart and we were in the hospital at the same time! When Grace was born (three weeks early), we went to go see her. I still hadn't had Jack (I was a week over due), and while we were there we thought how fun it would be if I had Jack before they left the hospital. Me and Luke left thinking we still had a few days, but an hour later my water broke and we were right back to the hospital. So we were just right down the hall from them after all. Jack and Grace now enjoy long walks together, and when Jack sees Grace he gets all smiley and excited. We just think that Grace is perfect, and who knows one day........

4 Months!

On Sunday Jack turned 4 months old!

Turning 4 months old means another trip to the doctors! We brought Aunt Summer because Jack had to get shots and I couldn't bear to watch it! He did really well as you can see, he cried of course but soon after he was smiling again. He was mad at Summer because she held his hand while they did it, but he still loved his mom (who got to comfort him after). He did love watching the fishes though!

Exciting News of the Week!

One more thing this week is that Jack learned to roll over! On Tuesday he did it for the first time and by the end of the day he had perfected it! He rolls from his back to his stomach and he can roll back to his back, but he usually stays and grunts on his stomach until I come and save him. You can't even put him down now without him rolling over. He is getting so big so fast. It is fun towatch him develop and learn new things each day! Oh ya, another exciting thing that happened this week is he got his second tooth! Two teeth by 4 months he is amazing!

Strawberry Days

We spent the day on Saturday going to the Strawberry Day festivals. First we got up early and went to Grandmas favorite parade!
The parade was a great time to hang out under the nice shady trees and spen time with our family. Only one month to go before we move so famil time is very precious!
Later that night we got all geared up to go to the rodeo.
It was a lot of fun and everyone who has been there knows that the best part is the strawberries and cream!

Splish Splash!

This week we decided to see if Jack would like swimming. We bought him a little pool and filled it with warm water. He loved it! He just hung out and kicked and splashed! As you can tell we have a tough life!
A couple days after that we decided to upgrade to the big pool! We went to the Lehi pool where they had lots of stuff for Jack to do.
He got upset for a little bit after getting splashed ,but he quickly got over it.
After a couple of hours though he had had enough!

Father's Day

We had a great Father's Day. First we went and had lunch with Grandpa Neils.
Then with Jack came all dressed to watch the golf tournament the U.S. Open with his Grandpa Skip and dad.
The rest of the boys loved Jack's golf hat so much they had to join along. As you can tell they weren't taking the picture very seriously! We just wanted to say thanks to all the dad's in our lives! They truly make our lives very special. Jack is lucky to have everyy one of them (Dad, Grandpas, Great Grandpas, and his Uncle Andy!)

I'm So Glad When Daddy Comes Home!

We wanted to make a Father's Day blog to tell our new dad how much we love him! He has been the best dad that we could ask for! He works so hard to give us a good life and we appreciate all he does. There are many times in the morning when I am still asleep and I wake up to Jack laughing in the other room with Luke. Jack loves his dad so much!

Jack's favorite cousins

Jack has been very lucky to have cousins that love him so much (sometimes a little too much)! When they are around Jack never has a dull moment, but he loves it!
They have kept us busy going to all of their events the last couple of weeks. Jack loved watching Ethan play baseball!
Even without a pacifier, Jack lasted the full 2 hours of Haylee's dance concert. He loved watching all the pretty girls, but his favorite dancer was definetly Haylee! She was told by many people afterwards that she was the star of the show!

Jack's many firsts

Jack has had many firsts in his three months. One of the not so fun ones was when he got his first shots. He was two months old. We made Grandma come and hold our hands to get us through it, but as you can see Jack did pretty well. The doctor said that they needed him to be their mascot because he is such a happy baby.
The latest and most exciting first, was his first tooth! At only three months old he got his first one! He has been super drooly and wants to chew on everything, but everybody told us he was to young to get one. I guess he is already an over acheiver! It is hard to see but it is on the bottom in the center.

Summer Time!

Going to baseball games,
the zoo,

and Lagoon!
We have already had a great summer spending time with our family!

One of Our Favorite Spots

We have a season pass to the gardens at Thanksgiving Point, so we love to get out of the house and go for walks.

Playing in the fountain in the Secret Gardens.

Our Big Weekend

The first weekend in May was a big weekend for our family. First, Luke graduated from the University of Utah! He earned a double major in Political Science and Sociology. Only three years left to go!
Jack was so proud of his dad!
Then, on Sunday Jack was blessed by his dad. It was a beautiful blessing, and then we spent the day with family and friends celebrating our exciting weekend.

Vacations

At a month old we went to Moab with Grandma Jill and Grandpa Neils. JAck spent lots of time with his grandma while we went out on the jeeps. We also got to spend time with Great Grandpa Lou and Grandma-Great Kathy.
A couple weeks after Moab, mom and Jack left dad for almost a whole week while we went to Great Grandma Cole's in Washington with Grandma Kathy. Our cousin Cassie was getting married. It was an eleven hour drive (see the shirt), but Jack was the perfect baby.
Then the first week of June, Jack took his first airplane ride and we went to see our new home in Lawrence, Kansas. We will be moving there the first of August while Luke attends law school. It was a short trip but busy trip, checking out the wards, trying to find a home to buy, and meeting new friends.
We are beginning to wonder if we are ever going to just stay home!

JACK, JACK, JACK

Ever since the car ride home from the hospital we knew that are life couldn't get any better!
Jack was smiling since the first week
He loved snuggling up in his fur
He didn't quite know what to think of his first bath
The first month was a lot of work and we didn't get much sleep but having Jack in our home was worth it! We can't imaging life without him now.
