mr. elf

We started a fun new tradition this year, mr. elf. He is there to watch over the boys during the day and then he flies back to Santa each night and reports back to him how they have been. Then in the morning when the kids wake up they have to go find where he landed. It was so fun, Jack loved finding Santa every morning and it helped to keep him in line during the day knowing that his elf was watching. Gma & Gpa even got into it and every chance they got they hid the elf in a new spot. So Jack had to go find him multiple times. Jack loved his elf and he was devestated when I told him that on Christmas Eve he wouldn't return until next year. He said, "but its my elf!" He also was very paranoid about people touching the elf- because he loses a little of his magic everytime he is touched! and he didnt want to call him anything other than mr. elf.

annual Peterson Christmas Party

We were excited to go to the annual Peterson family Christmas party this year. We started out with a nice lunch at Marie Calendars and we were able to visit with the family.

After lunch Luke took Jack to the bathroom and on their way they ran into a visitor. Santa Clause had come to make an appearance. As they walked out of the bathroom Santa looked down at Jack and said "Oh, hello Jack." Jack was very pleased that he called him by name. Then Santa came in our room and went down the table calling each person by name and pairing family members together. We all looked at each other in amazement because we had no clue who was dressed up as Santa and how he knew all of us by name. It was so fun and so magical for the children. He then put on a little program, telling jokes and singing songs and then we all had the chance to sit on his lap and receive a gift from him. It was so fun. It was a great party!

We found out after the party that he was just a hired Santa and had no relation to the family. It is still a mystery on how he memorized all of our names and knew us by face!
