The Details......

the invitations
the banner

the table settings

the decorations
the food (cow cake, cow spots for the kids-miniature chocolate cupcakes, apples & dip, cream-that the kids will make, milk cartons-thanks to the nearest elementary school, and larger cow cupcakes-super yummy ones for the adults)
the cow cake
the party favors (little barns filled with bubblegum eggs, reeses pb eggs, plastic farm animals, & playdough)

the party.......

Jack waiting for his friends to arrive
when they all arrived we sang Old McDonald and played duck duck goose (or tried to with a bunch of 2 year olds it was a little tough)

then we let the pigs out of their pen! pink piggie balloons with curly tails! the kids loved playing with them!
then we took pictures with the photo op
and played egg toss
the kids went on pony rides (I told Luke if we were getting any sort of income right now at all we would be having real pony rides :) )then we made "cream" with the cow's milk (mason jars full of vanilla instant pudding that the kids shook till it was set up) Jack had a lot of fun shaking the jar!
then we sang to Jack and let him blow out the candles
and the kids clapped for him
then we ate
and smiled for the camera

and we even welcomed Jack into his terrible twos!
and then we said goodbye and I sat on the couch!

we had such a fun party with Jack's friends! I had so much fun planning this party! I told Luke it was meant to be (finding all the cute decorations on ebay for way cheap, Target having a farm section in their dollar section right now, and finding lots of fun ideas from the internet) getting to plan fun things like this is one of the things I love about being a mom! although it was a little crazy at times with 10 crazy kids all in all it was a good time! thanks to all of Jack's friends for coming and sharing this special day with him!

p.s. a special thanks to luke for putting up with all my craziness and being so willing to help me out! I love you babe! My mom was sure he was going to leave me after this party!

The rest of Jack's birthday

I had to post this picture, it was the night before his birthday and we put on this pair of pajamas. They are a size 2T. They are just a little short! Maybe he should be turning 3! Another new thing he does is when I ask him to say cheese for the camera, whatever he is holding he holds it up and it has to say cheese too! McQueen is saying cheese!
When Jack woke up on his birthday, Luke & I went in and sang to him and got him up. He was in a very good mood! (Probably because we both stayed up and played with him instead of one of us going back to bed!)
We opened up and read him a birthday book and then we got ready for the day.
We took him to breakfast at a local place. This is him trying to pose for the picture with me.
He got lots of phone calls from family that morning! My mom called him and sang to him and he started saying Scary, Scary! This is the face he kept making while she was singing and he was saying scary! We were laughing so hard! Thanks to everyone that called, you made him feel super special!
The rest of the day we spent having his party and friends over! Later that night when Luke got home we ate and then we decided to sing and let him blow out the candles with Luke. We turned off the lights and brought him the cake.
He loves blowing out the candles. He made us relight them a few times so he could do it again.
Then we opened presents. Luke's family sent him a new pack of cars, (surprisingly it was pretty much the only pack that he didn't have!) they picked out some good ones! One of Jack's new things he does is when he gets shy he puts his tongue in his cheek, I think it is very cute and I was glad to catch a picture of it!
They also sent him cars jammies! They are very cute! My favorite part of the gift was some spending money to buy him some new clothes! (way fun for me!) Thanks Gma & Gpa P & Bree!
Luke & I gave him a few books and this silver car! I must admit that it was really something I wanted, it looks darling in his room! But Jack loved it too!
Luke and Jack spent the rest of the night popping the piggy balloons. They had a lot of fun. Jack would count to 3 (like in the picture) and then Luke would jump on the balloon and pop it.
Then they would both say OH NO!
This is what was left of the balloons. Jack was laughing so hard!
Before we put Jack into bed he ran into his room and grabbed his small Mac truck. With all of his new cars he figured he should load them all up and drive them to his room. He had to drive each car onto the truck one by one. It was so funny to watch him think of that by himself. I love this kid! We put the cars into bed with him and the next morning he stayed in his crib until 8:30 playing with his cars before he even yelled for us! Yay for new cars!
Over the next couple of days we received more mail! My family sent him lots of fun things! He was way excited about the wrapping paper, they could have just sent him empty boxes! How cute are these gifts! Thanks family! He loved all of them!It was my dad's idea to get him a hammer toy, and grandpa knows best! He loves this toy! I love the serious face he gets when he hammers! They also got him this fun pop-up tent. It is his new favorite hiding spot. He loves to play in it!So even though we didn't have our family around to celebrate with us, they were so nice to make Jack's day special! We love them and are grateful for all they do for us!
All in all we had a very fun day trying to make Jack feel special!

happy birthday to you...............

Two years ago today Jack came to our family. He has been such a huge blessing and makes life way more fun. Here are some things we love about Jack....

he is super friendly, as he walks down the street he is always trying to get people's attention to say hi

he is a super active boy, he keeps me very active chasing him around ALL day, and he is getting very fast

he is ALL boy, he loves everything boy: sports, cars, outdoors, wrestling with his dad

his new thing to do is to hide, he loves climbing into closets, under his bed, underneath the blinds

he is cuddly; he loves to give his mama loves or snuggle up on the couch and read books or watch a movie

he is a very content little boy; he is very easy going and he is very good to entertain himself

he is always finding some way to be silly; putting bowls on his head, dancing, makes silly faces
he will do these things and then try and get your attention, he loves to be told he is silly (I wonder who he gets this from :) ) he is so much like his dad

he is super sweet; he usually is quick to say sorry if he has done something mean, he loves his extended family and kisses and squeezes the cell phone when they call

he is very handsome; his crazy beautiful blonde curls, gorgeous blue eyes, and a smile that makes you melt

how could you not love this kid!

(more on his birthday tomorrow, it will help explain what the cake is supposed to be)

firestation #2

we went and took a tour of the fire station for playgroup on Thursday
Jack was in love with all the big trucks
I love having a themed shirt for special occasions
pointing to the trucks
the fire fighter taught the kids about fire safety and put his gear on to show them what they would look like if they had to come to their house
I love these pictures, they show what a character Jack is
they got to get up in the truck and pretend to drive, Jack was a little hesitant to let the fireman help him down
he was in heaven
Jack and his friends, Emily, Bailey & David
giving the fireman high five
