Pumpkin Fun

After going to the pumpkin patch's we had to find something to do with all of our pumpkins. For family night we had some friends over and carved pumpkins. It was alot of fun. Jack and Jane were not to sure about the insides of the pumpkins. Jane kept telling Jack to not touch it.

It turned out pretty well. Jack had fun seeing it lit up.

Then for playgroup the kids painted pumpkins at the church. Jack really loved painting. He did a really good job, I thought his pumpkin turned out great.Jane, Jack, and Emily

pendleton's pumpkin patch

Last Friday we went to another pumpkin patch. It was a really cold morning so we didn't stay long, but what we did get to do was lots of fun.
We went on a tractor ride.
They had a corn box for the kids to play in, Jack loved it. I am a good mom and showed him how fun it is to throw it, not the best idea, but hey he had fun:)

Jack tried to ride the trike.
I am pretty sure Jack is laughing in this picture because he kept kicking the pumpkins in front of him and laughing as me and Mandy chased after them. He is pretty funny.

where do we live............

Tonight as a family we drove down town to Mass street to see what? the annual zombie walk. Luke was reading the local newspaper today and read that tonight was the annual zombie walk. Last year there were about 100 people that all dressed up as zombies and walked down Mass street, so we decided it was worth the drive downtown to check it out. Where does Lawrence find these people? It was pretty crazy, this year there was probably 200 zombies.on a side note, we are living pretty well in Lawrence now that gas prices are at $2.37!!!!! We couldn't believe when they went lower than 3 dollars a couple weeks ago and it has just been going down ever since. Life is pretty good!!! We might just need to go on a road trip...

the new do......

We finally took Jack in for a haircut, he desperately needed one. I had a hard time since aunt bree wasn't around to cut it and trusting the job to someone else worried me. But we finally did it and I think he looks handsome. I love that the top is alot shorter and it lays better. He also no longer has the piece in the front that slowly moves to the front like bangs. I am a little sad that all of his curls on the side are gone, but I know they will be back soon.
This haircut makes him look like a little boy. Me and Luke keep looking at him and laughing at how old he looks. He is our big boy. It was actually a guy that cut his hair and he was a little fruity, but Ethan will be proud that he called Jack's new haircut the "messy soccer boy" haircut.

halloween cookies

Mandy had us over the other day to decorate sugar cookies. Of course I forgot to take a picture of the kids decorating their cookies, but I had to take a picture of the cookie Jack decorated. I thought it was so cute. He placed the eyes and the nose and made the mouth. He is at such a fun age where we can do stuff like this now, I love it! The cookies were delicious, I picked up Luke and by the time we had gotten home he had the cookies gone except Jack's cookie. I made him wait till I took a picture. Thanks Mandy!

we found a new horse in town

I'll put a spell on you..............

With Halloween around the corner, Jack has been putting his witchcraft to use. He loves to stick his arms out and wiggle his fingers and put a spell on Luke. Luke responds by pretending to fall asleep and then Jack yells to wake him up, and then he laughs and laughs. He thinks it is pretty funny. So the other day I went out shopping with my friend Jenni and her baby Owen. On the way back home Owen was getting restless and started fussing in his seat. Jack started to get concerned and Jenni told him that Owen just needed to go to sleep, and she told jack to tell Owen to just go to sleep. So Jack responded by holding his arms out and putting a spell on Owen. It works with dad, why not with baby Owen? It was very funny and sweet.

Grandma to the rescue

(and Aunt Summer)
Jack received a package in the mail last week. He was confused by the box.

But as soon as we opened it he was very happy! Grandma had sent him treats!
Under the treats Jack was very excited to find new shoes!!! He loves new shoes and gets very excited about them. My mom and Summer listened to me complain about how I couldn't find any reasonably priced church shoes for Jack so they decided to do something about it. They found these cute shoes at a boutique and thought of us. We are so glad they did, we had gone everywhere looking for some!
We were excited to try them out at church on Sunday.
He looked pretty handsome!!

Thanks so much grandma & summer!
