Memorial Day

Sunday we headed up to Logan to go visit Great Grandpa Peterson's grave. Logan has a beautiful cemetery. Jack was having so much fun sitting by the graves and smiling for the camera.
Jack's full name is Neils Jack Peterson, Jack is the 5th generation Neils. The grave behind them is Jack's Great Great Grandpa Neils.I thought this picture was sweet and shows you what a character Jack is.
When we went back home we made a stop at cousin Aiden's grave. It was very neat that my whole family could be there to remember our sweet little boy. I am sure him and Jack were best buddies up in heavena nd can't wait to see each other again!
I have really loved being around our families again. You don't realize what you have until they are gone. Probably the person I miss the most when we are in Kansas is my sweet Avery Loo. I hate to miss her growing up so it is nice to be here for so long.

Splish Splash!

Before the weather got bad we were able to go swimming. It was so nice to lay in the sun and splash around.

Haylee is a very big helper with Jack, she took him in the big pool and helped him with the slide.I am pretty sure this was Jack's first popsicle and he loved it! Look at his curly hair!

I just love this picture of Jack and my Grandpa. We went to go visit them the other day and when my Grandpa started to water the flowers Jack was a very good helper. He followed him all over the yard. He loves to go see his Great Gma & Gpa. My sweet Grandma always calls him "Smiley Jack". She was a very proud Grandma showing him off to all her neighbors.
Grandma Jill didn't have to work all last week so we got to spend lots of time with her! Of course she spoiled Jack like crazy. This is his new wagon, he loves it! He loves to go on walks in it, we are dying to have the weather warm up so we can use it some more.
She also got him a jack-in-the-box. It was pretty funny to watch Jack play with it. Whenever you would start to turn it he would slowly back away and then he would jump everytime it came out. It never gets old. We are sad Grandma had to go pack to work today, we were having too much fun!

Cousin Time

It sure didn't take Jack very long to warm up to everyone. He has had so much fun running around with his cousins.
He loves to give Avery loves.
Ethan and Haylee are always so disappointed when I come home without Luke, so they were very excited to know he would be here all summer!

best friends

Jack's best friend, Jane had surgery (tubes in her ears) yesterday. So of course we had o take her something to make her feel better. Plusit was their last real day to play together this summer, so sad.
Isn't he so sweet? He knocked on the door and waited patiently.
She loved them!
We just love Jane and we are going to miss her this summer! Lucky for us we will have plenty of time to play next year!

Take me out to the ballgame....

Last Thursday we went to our first Royals game of the season. We had alot of fun spending one afternoon with our dad! Jack loved it!

Asparagus Picking

So I didn't have time to write about this post before so here is the scoop. Me, Jack, Mandy, and Jane decided to go asparagus picking. There is a farm close by that we have heard is a lot of fun. It was so much fun! Like alot of you we never knew how asparagus grew, I had never even thought of it, but it does just stick up out of the ground everywhere. We got a ride to the field on a little tractor and then they give you a basket to carry your goods. The asparagus has to be taller than your basket to pick it (which is 8 in.) Jack had so much fun snapping them off, every time he would giggle. Oh my goodness, they tasted so good. Just to eat them raw was delicious, they had such a fresh, sweet taste. We have eaten them for a couple dinners, roasted with parmesan cheese and they are super yummy! I wish we could always have fresh asparagus. We love living in the middle of nowhere where we are so close to a farm!

Cool Shoes

I've been meaning to post this for awhile, but we wanted to show Grandpa Neils that Jack LOVES his shoes! He pretty much thinks he is the coolest thing around when he wears them.
Thanks Grandpa Neils!

Red Dog Workouts

So at music class last Friday, some ladies convinced me to start going to Red Dog workouts. They made me pretty nervous, telling me that it is really tough and there are people throwing up everywhere. But we all commited to be there on Tuesday. Red Dog workouts were started by a guy named Don Gardner 25 years ago! He puts on free workouts every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 6:00am. In the summer it goes to everyday three times a day. So Tuesday when my alarm went off at 5:30 I got up and headed out the door. They are held at the Allen Fieldhouse and I must say I was pretty impressed. There are tons of people that go! In the summer when they start doing it every day and outside, they have hundreds that come. It was a great workout! He does something different everyday, anything from running to doing bleachers. It felt great on Tuesday to get a workout in before Luke and Jack were out of bed. Wednesday I got up and ran at home and after Red Dog, I must say that chasing Jack around yesterday was pretty painful! I have now made it through 2 red dog workouts and I am starting to feel pretty good! This is exactly what I was looking for, someone to kick my butt into shape! Thanks Red Dog! Business Time

So one of our lawschool friends shared this with us and we think it is pretty funny. Us law students think it is especially funny now during finals time. (Sorry mom and dad)
