cole family reunion 2010

7/1/10-7/4/10
In July my family packed our bags and mini vans and headed up to Washington to Gramma Cole's farm. My Gramma turned 80 in March so we decided that we must have a huge celebration. We had been waiting all year for our Cole family reunion to arrive and it did not disappoint. We had a WONDERFUL weekend at my Gramma's house.
We arrived on Thursday night just in time to hurry over to my cousin Michelle's wedding reception. My lovely dad took us on a few scenic detours, making our 11 hour drive 16 hours. It was beautiful but sooo long. So we wore what we had on in the car and went to the church. She looked beautiful and we were glad we got to see her all dressed up!
The next day we all gathered at my Grammas and had a big breakfast together. Then we hung around waiting for the weather to warm up a bit so that we could go swimming.
In the meantime....
The kids played with tad poles all morning. They were amazed by them. They found them in a little stream at my cousins house and had hours of fun playing with them. My cousin from Washington was rolling his eyes at us "Utah" kids, that we could be entertained by tad poles.

The older kids went out to the field and shot guns. I shot a gun for my first time and hated it. We were trying to hit clay pigeons and when it was my turn I pulled the trigger and closed my eyes and screamed. Guns are not my thing.

It started to warm up so we headed out to my mom's Uncle Jay's pond.
It is an awesome pond. He has made a water slide that is so fun. Jack didn't like it so much especially that he ended up in ice cold water.
There is canoes and paddle boats.
Sand for the kids to dig in.

The kids played on this slide for hours.

Then my cousin Linnette planned the funnest activity. We played
Minute to Win It

It was so fun. All of the cousins were split up on teams and then we had to chose a member of our team to go up for each challenge. There were lots of laughs! then the uncles, aunts and gramma had to go up and shake their booties for the Junk in the Trunk challenge. Pretty funny.
****************

Luke called and wanted to talk to Jack so Jack talked away as he was going down the slide.

I was so amazed by how beautiful Washington is. I love all the farms and this year was especially green.
Later that night we ended up at my Gramma's again to do illegal fireworks. My cousins and Uncles put on a great show for all of us and only had one minor mishap. A huge firework tipped over and shot right past my 80 year old Gramma and into the house. Thankfully there was no harm done.
